The North Thompson Volunteer and Information Centre (NTVIC) has submitted an application for a Pepsi Refresh Canada Grant of $100,000 to build a Splash Pad in Barriere.

“We have, at minimum, a one in 300 chance of obtaining this funding for this project,” says NTVIC’s Kathy Dunn, “These odds are greatly increased if each person in the community of Barriere commits to voting every single day for two months. We stand an even better chance if you can get your friends and family, wherever they live, to vote as well. It will cost you nothing, other than a few seconds of your time each day.”

Dunn advises “There is no catch!” When registering your email address with Pepsi Refresh (in order to vote), you will receive no spam from Pepsi unless you specifically request such material. The program is purely vote based; the most votes obtained for any given project wins. Plain and simple.

“Think we can do it? We do. Especially with you and your family’s help,” says Tasha Buchanan at the District of Barriere office. “We hope everyone with an email address (business and/or personal) will take a moment everyday to vote for the project and will also get their families involved.”

If you want to be involved but have some questions, give Kathy Dunn a call at NTVIC (250)672-0033, or Tasha Buchanan at the District of Barriere Office (250)672-9751 for more information.
