Clearwater re-elects incumbent mayor Merlin Blackwell in decisive vote

Blackwell received 88.1 per cent of the vote

Merlin Blackwell will serve as mayor of Clearwater again, according to preliminary election results.

The incubent received the majority of the votes, with 870 votes, while his challenger Dean Clifford garnered 111.

Serving as council will be Shelley Sim, Lyle Mackenzie, Lynne Frizzle, Ken Matheson, Theresa Braaten and Bill Haring.

There are roughly 1,866 eligible voters in Clearwater, with 987 casting ballots in the election.
