The arrival of another cold front descended on B.C. from Alaska and the Yukon on Tuesday morning bringing lows to the Lower North Thompson Valley of up to -28°C, and even -30°C in some areas. A windchill of -29°C was reported in Heffley Creek where the temperature was at -22°C. In the Upper North Thompson Tuesday morning Blue River was down to - 32°C. Environment Canada said they expect the cold to last a week in duration. Forecasters predict temperatures should be starting to moderate by the weekend, moving up to -10°C Friday and - 6°C Saturday, with the warming bringing snow.
