Courtney Buck presumed drowned and considered as missing

Current search efforts for Courtney Buck, along the Thompson River near Clearwater BC have been completed as of Wednesday, December 12.

On Wednesday December 12, 2012 the Clearwater RCMP and local Search and Rescue teams completed all possible search efforts along the Thompson River near Clearwater BC. Courtney Buck was not located during the extensive efforts. Mrs Buck is now classified as missing presumed drowned.

The search, which had been ongoing since December 9th, included air search by the Southeast District RCMP Air Services helicopter, ground searches by RCMP and local Search and Rescues volunteers and Dept Fisheries and Oceans vessels on the water.

The Clearwater RCMP will continue to consult with local Search and Rescue technicians to assess further search efforts as river conditions and water levels change. The RCMP Air Services crews and Dept Fisheries and Oceans also remain aware and will conduct future patrols during the normal course of their duties in this area.

The Clearwater RCMP and BC Coroners Services are continuing their investigations and are providing support to the affected families and local community.
