Mayor Fennel puts in the last screw for the sign advertising the coming of Barriere Southgate Industrial Park. A larger sign will be put up in the near future.

It has been eight years since the wildfires, and it’s been seven years since the project of turning the former Tolko Millsite into an industrial park was started.  In the near future, this site will be turned over to the District of Barriere.

This 66 acre site will be Barriere’s gateway industrial park.  Various sized parcels will be available to businesses and industry looking to locate in one of the fastest growing areas in the region.

This flat land is already zoned for industrial use and is on the Agate Bay, Highway 5 intersection. The CN Rail main line is just across the highway.

The District of Barriere is a newly incorporated community.  Barriere is situated on Highway 5, 45 minutes north of Kamloops, in the lower North Thompson Valley.  Highway 5 is the major transportation route between Vancouver and Northern Alberta’s booming oil and gas industry.

Barriere’s 2,000 residents enjoy all the basic services, and all the services offered in Kamloops are only 60 kilometres away.

The Barriere District Council is inviting business and industry from throughout B.C. and the world to locate here and be part of our growing economy.  Get in on the ground floor, take advantage of this unique opportunity and “Grow With Us”.
