The emergency room at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital will be closed during the day Thursday, June 30, according to a statement released by Interior Health Wednesday at 5:03 p.m.

The ER will be closed from 6 a.m. Thursday, June 30, to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30, due to limited staffing availability. Full service will resume on Thursday at 7 p.m.

“Interior Health regrets this temporary change to normal operations,” the statement reads.

Clearwater and area residents are encouraged to call 911 in the event of an emergency and ambulances will be routed straight to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops during closure hours. Those seeking medical attention can also visit Royal Inland Hospital, or call HealthLink BC at 811 if unsure of their medical care needs.
