‘Fast Eddy’ Dostaler hopes to run across Canada and back to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

His run started in Victoria, B.C., on Mar. 1, 2015, and will reach the half way point when he arrives in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Dostaler says the first month of the run through B.C. has been challenging, and says he’s received great support along the way from locals, but would appreciate more donations towards the cause.

A former North Thompson Valley resident, “Fast Eddy” was photographed running next to the North Thompson River between Clearwater and Little Fort on Monday, March 23, after starting in Barriere that morning. Now 26 years old, he lived from age eight to age 12 in the community of Clearwater.
