The community of Barriere is now in full swing for the holiday season.

Last Saturday morning the Annual Breakfast With Santa was held in the Lions Hall with so many families turning up that Lion’s Club members were non-stop cooking.

The event “by donation” was managed by Interior Savings this year with help from many other community organizations and volunteers. Interior Savings then donated the funds that were raised back to the Lion’s Club to help with the numerous programs and functions the organization puts on.

Saturday afternoon and evening was the annual Tree Light Up event at the Barriere Bandshell in Fadear Park with concessions, booths and activities inside the Senior’s Hall. Many attendees commented, “this is the best tree light up yet”.

Santa Claus has also been in the area having his picture taken with the family pet, and don’t forget that Thursday, Dec. 13 is Late Night Shopping in Barriere and you might just catch the ‘Jolly Old Elf’ there as well.
