The first Huntley Cooper Award was presented last Wednesday night at the Thompson Valley Players meeting at NTVIC in Barriere.  This award will be presented annually in honour of the memory of Huntley Cooper.

Huntley and his wife Wendy were members of TV Players for many years and shared a passion for live theatre, and loved to build the sets together.

Huntley was a ‘behind the scenes’ force who was a real team player with a wonderful imagination. He was very excited to get the youth involved in the group, and would be very proud of how the youth division of TV Players is growing.

Wendy Cooper said she was pleased to present the award to Dryden Howe for his participation and accomplishments over the past year, and she congratulated Seanna Armstrong on being a close runner-up. Both children were very active in fund raising and attending group activities this year.

TV Players say they thank all people in the community who donated funds on behalf of Huntley.  The money has been put to good use for educational tools like books and training programs and a cash bursary will be presented annually to a deserving student in drama.
