Celebrating Literacy Week with an Indoor Teddy Bear Picnic in Barriere

Are you ready for the Indoor Teddy Bear Picnic on Sunday, Jan. 27, in the Barriere Ridge gymnasium from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.?

What better way to spend a winter day indoors with the kids and family! Meet new friends and socialize while the youngsters enjoy the fun.

All you have to do is bundle up the kids, grab their favourite teddy bear or stuffy and come on down to join in the fun at this absolutely FREE event and all ages welcome!

Take part in the Teddy Bear Parade and judging, and there will be prizes and ribbons for the best teddy bears and stuffies. There will also be a teddy bear doctor on site to give each bear a check up and present a certificate of health to the child who brought the bear or stuffy.

Organizers promise plenty of refreshments and fun snacks, or bring your own picnic, and blanket for the kids and the Teddy Bears. Everyone can enjoy the Lego station, games, crafts, and best of all live music by well known entertainer Gordie West.

This is event will kick-off Literacy Week in B.C. as well as Interior Savings’ Unplug and Play Family Literacy Week.

The Indoor Teddy Bear Picnic is sponsored by Interior Savings, Barriere and Area Literacy Outreach, Yellowhead Community Services, the North Thompson Star/Journal and Black Press.
