The North Thompson Agriplex building has been ordered. After spending just over a month considering building structure options and construction companies, members of the Agriplex Project Committee on behalf of the NT Fall Fair and Rodeo Association met with representatives of Metal Structure Concepts Ltd., on Apr. 15, to clinch the deal. The contract was signed, a down payment made, and site preparations are already underway at the fairgrounds.
The project has received positive response from the community and residents of the North Thompson Valley. Donations both large and small have come forward to help with the cost of the building. The committee says they are seeking funds now to erect the building and finish the interior; and they encourage anyone who would like to learn more about the project to contact them. Several fundraisers are being held within the community of Barriere, and a number of government grants have also been applied for.
“The spirit of the community is behind this project,” said one of the committee members, “We have already raised well over half of the dollars we need to bring this project to completion. The support of so many people who believe in this project is awesome.”
