“Members of the North Thompson Fall Fair & Rodeo Association are now out and about with books of 50/50 raffle tickets for our annual fundraiser,” says NTFFRA director Jane Milburn.

She notes last year’s lucky 50/50 Raffle winner was Willy Matthew. Matthew took home a cheque for $5000, and Milburn says the goal for this year is to once again sell all the tickets printed.

“The way the tickets are going, the chances of selling out are very good,” says Milburn, “With only 2,000 tickets printed the odds are good for the ticket holder and the cost of $5 per ticket is affordable.”

She notes that last year Matthew purchased his lucky ticket from a volunteer ticket seller in front of the mall where Armour Mountain Office Services and Sweetams Nik Naks are situated on Barriere Town Road.

“We will be there again this year on June 28,” said Milburn, “Tickets are also on sale from many of our NTFFRA members, and also in the Bear Lane Bistro, Barriere Country Feeds, Sam’s Pizza & Rib House, Mane Street Hair Salon, Barriere Timber Mart, Armour Mountain Office Services, the District of Barriere office, Barriere and Area Chamber of Commerce, Rainer’s Custom Cutting in Darfield, and Jim’s Food Market in Little Fort.”

She also notes tickets are available in Kamloops at The Horse Barn and Purity Feeds.

Milburn says, “We hold this annual raffle to raise funds so we can put the money into improving our fairgrounds facility, which benefits all of the users and also the community at large.”
