A presentation of a kid’s table and chairs

Aboriginal Engagement Success By 6,  presented a children’s table and chair set, along with toy’s and a banner to Interior Savings Credit Union in Barriere on Wednesday, Oct. 19.  The presentation was made by Cindy Wilgosh - Success By 6 Aboriginal Coordinator for the North Thompson Valley, Sadie Simpson and Sam Saul from the Aboriginal Sharing Centre in Clearwater, and School District 73 area Trustee Joanne Stokes who also serves on the Success By Six.

Wilgosh noted that last year the Barriere branch of Interior Savings had made a donation to Aboriginal Engagement Success By 6 from which child sized tables and chairs, and a partnership banner were purchased.  A set of each was then delivered to Aboriginal Engagement Success By 6, the Aboriginal Sharing Centre, and Barriere’s Interior Savings.

“We thought the credit union needed a play area for the kids,” said Wilgosh, who was almost immediately proven right when a young family entered the bank and  two of their children quickly took up the chairs to check out the toys on the table while their parents stopped at the tellers.
