Last Monday evening at approximately 10 p.m. a rare total lunar eclipse took place. It was rare because it was the same day as the winter solstice; the last time this happened was in theyear 1632. The event was visible to residents of the North Thompson Valley (when clouds permitted) and took approximately four hours to complete. The next such eclipse will happen in 2094.
