Barriere RCMP are looking for the public's help regarding an attempted boat theft at Adams Lake.

Barriere RCMP are requesting the public's assistance regarding an attempted theft of a boat on Adams Lake on July 6 near the Adams Lake boat launch.

Witnesses describe two men, who are associated with an older-model grey and blue flat-deck truck with wood panels, who attempted to steal a boat. BC RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy reports that the owner of the boat intervened, which led to him being "dragged several metres, causing serious injuries."

“The suspects weren’t able to leave with the boat, and RCMP hope witnesses will come forward," said Grandy. "Given the suspect's vehicle was unique and had been parked at the Adams Lake boat launch on a busy day, we're hoping someone may have seen it."

The truck is described as an older-model vehicle (possibly a Ford), grey-blue in colour, with a flat-deck, and wooden panels on each side.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Cpl. Kyle Camalush at the Barriere RCMP detachment (250-672-9918). If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
