Senior rooked and robbed, wants others to know

Bridge Lake senior robbed by thieves pretending to be interested in items she had for sale

An elderly woman living in Bridge Lake has reported to this newspaper that she was recently visited by a young couple, comprising of a man in his 20s and a teenage girl.

Apparently the couple knocked on her door and asked to see some antiques she had for sale.

The lady then invited them into her home to see the antiques and also some jewellery she had.

No purchases were made, but after the couple had left the senior realized they had stolen the antiques they were looking at as well as some of her jewellery.

However, this senior is not to be taken lightly, and she is already working to track down the culprits. Aside from contacting the police, she is also warning others to be cautious of these two if they come to your door.  And she wants folks in Barriere to be aware that the pair told her while at her home, that they had just come from Barriere and were heading north.

This lady asks that anyone who may have had contact or dealings with these people in your home, to check and make sure nothing is now missing.

If you have any information about these people we suggest you contact the local RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
