Goodbye winter – spring has arrived!
The turning point arrived with the vernal equinox on Wednesday, March 20, at 2:58 p.m. when both the Northern and Southern hemispheres experienced an equal amount of daylight.
For those of us residing in the Northern Hemisphere, the vernal equinox marks the beginning of a much awaited spring, and a happy goodbye to a long cold winter.
The daylight hours will now continue to lengthen until the summer solstice arrives on Friday, June 21.
