It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Annabell Moon. She completed her life journey peacefully on February 6, 2007, at R.I.H. at 88 years of age.
Mom was born and raised in Edmonton and moved to Barriere with her husband and son in 1972. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Frank, in 1991 and her brother Jack in 1999.
Remembering her with love are her son Frank and daughter Dolina. She loved her family and was always very supportive of us in her gentle way. We will miss her greatly.
She loved to sing and did for many years with the Barriere Seniors Choir. She had many fond memories of the people she sang with and those she spent time with carpet bowling at the Barriere Seniors Center.
Thank you to the many members of the seniors society whose companionship she enjoyed for many years. Thanks go to Betty, Vera and Les, Mary, Margaret Strachan, Frank Steck, and helpful neighbors Walter and Josie.
A special thank you to Yvonne Hay who helped her, with kindness, in many ways.
There were others, too, in the community who helped with a friendly smile that Mom was quick to return. Thank you also to Dr. Clare for his warm caring for Mom.
In the past year Mom moved to Kamloops with her cat Angel to live with her daughter Dolina. We enjoyed being roomies and created many happy memories to celebrate.
She attended Adult Day services two days a week at the Ponderosa for six months and enjoyed the ride on the Handy Dart and the activities with the clients and special staff at “school”.
At Mom’s request there will not be a service. She would rather her friends and acquaintances pause and honor her memory over their next cup of tea.
A sincere thank you to Dr. Beaton, Dr. McKee, Dr. Tynan and Dr. Bosman. A special thank you to Dr. Eng and the nurses on 6 North for their compassionate care of Mom these past six weeks.
At her request, should friends desire, and in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Barriere and District Seniors Society, Box 791, Barriere, B.C. V0E 1E0 in her honor.
