In Loving Memory ~
It is with deep sorrow that the family, along with close friend Donna Morgan, announce the peaceful passing of Anneliese Martens, aged 97, of Barriere, on March 3rd, 2025. She left us at RIH in Kamloops after a brief illness.
Anneliese was predeceased by her beloved husband, Hans Martens; her parents, Wilhelm and Berta Steffen; and her brother, Gerhard. She is survived by her brother, Walter Steffen of Kamloops, BC, as well as one niece, two nephews, eight great-nieces and nephews, and four great-great-nieces and nephews.
A true lover of nature, Anneliese's gardens were a testament to her extraordinary green thumb. Her yard was always full of vibrant flowers and bountiful vegetables, a reflection of her care and dedication. She also had a profound love for animals, especially the dogs she and Hans shared over the years. Anneliese was a strong advocate for animal rescues and the humane treatment of animals.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the EMTs for their kindness and compassion, and to the doctors and nursing staff who provided exceptional care during Anneliese's time in the hospital.
In keeping with Anneliese's spirit, there will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to her beloved rescue, BBK Rescue, at 250-320-4321 in Barriere, BC.
