Annie (Nan) Farwell of Barriere, B.C. passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in the Hamlets Care Home at Kamloops, B.C.

Nan is survived by her daughter Phyllis Clarkson of Vancouver, B.C., her son Morley Farwell (Sue) of Barriere, B.C., her three sisters Elsie Brown (Gordon), Joan Wilm, and Mary Watkinson. She is also survived by four grandchildren Alexandra (Ken), Christianne (Michael), Elise (David), and Eric (Kelsey), a great grandson Michael, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband George Farwell.

Nan was born in Stoke-Upon-Trent England and, as a young girl, came to Canada with her family. Nan grew up near Central Butte, Saskatchewan, and in 1943 Nan married her loving husband George Farwell.

In 1947 they moved to Richmond, B.C., where they raised their two children.

Nan and George moved to Barriere, B.C. in 1972 to build their new home. Unfortunately, George passed away suddenly the following year. Nan remained in Barriere living with her dogs “Snookie” and “Nikki” until moving into a full time care facility in 2010.

Nan was a kind and generous person. She loved to knit and made many garments which she gratefully donated to the Gleaners for the less fortunate. Nan will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated in the Schoening Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am on Monday, January 30, 2012, followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery, Kamloops.

Should friends and family so desire, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, Box 277, Kamloops, B.C., V2C 5K6, in Nan’s memory would be appreciated.
