Arthur Lawson Green

September 1, 2005

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Art (Grandpa Art), following a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.

Those who knew him well remember a thoughtful, kind, and giving man.

Art is lovingly remembered by his wife Denniel, children Sandra (Greg), James (Arlene), Ken, and the grandchildren Shawn, Adam, Justin, Shelby, and Victoria.

Art passed away in Barriere on September 1st with family at his side, he will be welcomed by his parents Margaret and Arthur.

Art was a friend of Bill W. for 37 years. Born June 6, 1931 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Art served overseas with the Canadian Forces, before embarking on a successful career in construction.

Art’s life path would lead him to work on the construction of the Revelstoke Dam and at BCIT and Cariboo College as a well respected and gifted instructor, working with special love and care with the first nations students.

Art’s career would culminate with his working as a building inspector for the TNRD.

Never one to sit still, Art dedicated many of his retirement years volunteering his many talents to the North Thompson Fall Fair.

A Celebration of Art’s life will be held at the North Thompson Fall Fair hall, Barriere Lake Road, Barriere, B.C., on Sept.10, 2005, at 1 p.m.

A remembrance tea is to follow.

Don’t Cry Because It’s Over - Smile, Because It Happened...
