It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Audrey May Rilcoe (Williamson) on August 14, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on February 23, 1945, in Kelowna, BC, Audrey lived a full and vibrant life brimming with love, laughter, and adventure.
Audrey was predeceased by her parents, George and Margaret Williamson, May Williamson, and her brother, Ron Williamson.
Audrey will be lovingly remembered and missed by husband Leonard, of 60 years, one daughter, two sons, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Greg Rilcoe (Tina), Norah Abel (Real), Bert Rilcoe (Allison), grandchildren Keylea, Stephanie, Kristopher, Kyle, Delanie, Leah, Abby, Renee, Thomas and great-grandchildren Karter, Kalli, Kash, Kasper, James and Katherine.
A loving Wife, Mother, Grandma, Aunty and special Friend and Sister to many.
Audrey was a dedicated and active member of the Barriere community, contributing countless volunteer hours to various local organizations. Her involvement included Hospice Society, Curling Club, Seniors Center, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Raise-a-Reader, Barriere Emergency Support Services, Alzheimer Society and many schools in SD73 to name a few. In recognition of her devoted service, she was honored as Barriere's Citizen of the Year in 2014.
Audrey was well known for her love of collecting ladybugs, but even more for her ability to collect and spread love. Her playful humor, storytelling talent, mastery of sports and skillful craftsmanship brought joy and beauty into the lives of everyone she met.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Barriere Curling Club on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm with coffee, tea and treats for those who wish to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Barriere Hospice Society, an organization she supported wholeheartedly is appreciated.
Audrey's passing leaves a void, but her spirit lives on in all of us. We'll forever cherish her memory and find comfort in every ladybug that crosses our path.
