Benjamin Krause of Little Fort, BC, passed away on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2007, at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, BC. He was 85 years of age. He is survived by Nellie Krause, his loving wife of 60 years, daughter Linda, son Michael, two grandsons, sister-in-law Marie Jim and four nephews. He and his wife Nellie celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 8th, less than a week before he passed away.
Benjamin was born in Wetaskawin, Alberta. He served in the armed forces for four and a half years. After the Fraser River flood in 1948, Ben, Nellie and their family moved to Little Fort. Ben was a farmer in his later years, but also spent part of his career working in logging and in the construction of Highway 5. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Following cremation, the family will hold a private graveside gathering at the Community Cemetery in Little Fort BC in the springtime. Rather than flowers, the family would appreciate it if donations in Memory of Benjamin Krause were made to Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater, BC.
