Betty Elvira Wurtz

Betty Elvira Wurtz was born in Wetaskiwan, Alberta on February 19, 1923. She came to B.C. in the late 1940's where she resided in Clearwater. In the early 1950's she moved to Louis Creek where she met Mike Wurtz. They were married on December 22, 1958. In 1971 they moved to Barriere, B.C.


Betty was in the Canadian Armed Forces in her early 20's. She later became very involved in the Royal Canadian Legion as a steward and secretary. She spent many years working as a cook at the Barriere hotel. She was always very busy, raising many animals. she and her husband Mike owned. She also loved gardening and tending to her large array of flowers. Betty had quite a green thumb. She hunted and fished and spent many weekends camping with her husband and daughter.


Betty resided at Forest View Place Retirement Home in Clearwater, B.C. from March 9, 2006 until her passing on March 5, 2007 at age 84.


She was predeceased by both her mother and father, 6 sisters and one brother.


She is survived by loving husband Mike, daughter Dale Moore (Dennis), Pinantan Lake; 2 granddaughters Joanna (David), Michelle (Chris); 2 great grandchildren Morgan and Caden; one sister Ruth Manning of Alberta.


She will be greatly missed by all of us. We love you. No formal service by request
