Our beloved Calvin passed away October 6, 2009 following heart surgery at BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver. Calvin was born February 20, 2009 at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, BC, to proud and loving parents Daryl and Elizabeth Ekins. He came home to live his short life in Barriere, BC.
Calvin's quick smile and sparkling blue eyes are forever in the memories of grandparents Mike and Angie Ekins (Tumbler Ridge) and Bruno and Karen Schilling (Darfield, BC). Calvin is lovingly remembered by uncle Ryan, aunt Meranda, Riley Ekins (Grande Prairie, AB); uncle Robin, aunt Jody, Tyler, Tyson, Tanner Schilling (Darfield) and uncle Brian, aunt Leesa, Spencer, Fraser Schilling (Edmonton, AB).
Calvin enjoyed sharing books, being outside and attracting the attention of those around him. During his brief life he touched the lives of those who met him.
A celebration of Calvin’s life was held Saturday October 17, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Church of St. Paul (formerly the Barriere United Church) in Barriere. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to BC Children’s Hospital, 4480 Oak St., Vancouver, BC, V6H 3V4.
