On July 27 a memorial service was held to remember the life of DeAnna Dowds. Many who knew her attended, remembering how her life had touched theirs.
DeAnna was born in Los Angeles, the second of seven children, but she lived the majority of her life in the interior of B.C. DeAnna had many interests, and pursued her life with enthusiasm.
She was loving, talented, friendly, cheerful and generous. Her family was most important to her, and she was very proud of her husband Bill, her sons Christopher and Kelly, as well as her little granddaughter Katie. She always looked forward to visits with her sisters and their children.
DeAnna’s love of horses brought her into contact with many in the community, giving riding lessons to some, opening her home to children and adults as well. She loved gardening, could sew, paint, and was a fantastic cook.
DeAnna fought with courage the long battle with cancer that finally took her life. Her love for her God Jehovah, and faith in the resurrection, along with the love and support from family and friends gave her the strength she needed during this time.
She will be dearly missed and always remembered by all who knew and loved her.
DeAnna is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Bill; sons Christopher (Jackie), and Kelly; granddaughter Katie; sisters, Candace (Tom), Jacqueline (Glenn), Sharlin (Brian), Catharine (Steven), and Lorena; brother John, and nieces and nephews.
