DENNIS JAMES BACHMIER
1947 - 2006
Loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 8, 2006.
Dennis was born April 19, 1947 in Brandon, Manitoba. Once old enough, he set out to work in the Yukon where he met his wife Cathrine. They married on May 22, 1971.
Soon after, they settled in Kamloops to raise their two sons. Dennis and Cathy loved kids and spent many hours as leaders with the Boy Scouts in North Kamloops.
Dennis worked as a heavy duty mechanic for 12 years at Kamloops Mack Trucks as well as a serving a short time as a union representative.
In 1986, Dennis and Cathy started their own mechanical shop in Barriere. They lived and worked in Barriere until the wildfires in 2003 burned them out.
After that, they picked up the pieces, moved back to Kamloops where Dennis went to work for Northern Trailer.
Dennis and Cathy loved to travel, he was always looking for the best deal on a trip to Vegas or England. They rarely missed an opportunity to be with family. Whether it was a wedding, family reunion or time spent with their grandchildren, they were always there.
Dennis leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Cathrine; two sons Shane (Lisa) and Christopher; and his two grandchildren Taylor and Nicholas, along with his faithful sidekick "Buster".
Also special friends John and Betty, as well as two brothers and two sisters along with many nieces and nephews.
Dennis will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
