In Loving Memory ~
Donna Richardson, beloved daughter of Bernie and Sheila Coffin, was born on January 31, 1963, in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. She passed away at home peacefully on August 7, 2023.
On a sunny day in 1987, Donna tied the knot with the love of her life, Alan Richardson. Together, they carved a beautiful journey filled with love and devotion. Their union brought forth two wonderful children, Mathew, and Trevor Richardson.
Donna's life was the embodiment of selflessness and compassion. After completing her education at North Surrey Senior Secondary School, she moved to Barriere where she met her loving husband, Alan. In Barriere, Donna enjoyed her fulfilling career at Campbell & Schreurs CPA Inc.
While Donna poured her heart into her professional life, she also dedicated herself to serving her community. She spent many years as the treasurer for the Barriere Search and Rescue organization, using her skills and knowledge to assist those in need and lending a helping hand during times of crisis. Her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others was awe-inspiring.
Donna's devotion to her family knew no bounds. She cherished every moment spent with her husband, Alan, supporting each other through all of life's ups and downs. As a mother, she poured her heart and wisdom into her two sons, Mathew, and Trevor, guiding them to become the remarkable individuals they are today.
Donna's love for life was contagious. She found joy in exploring the outdoors, embracing the beauty of British Columbia's beautiful landscape, and embarking on many camping trips with her husband, their dog Reese, and their longtime friends (the Hoffmans and the Campbells).
Donna found solace in the great outdoors. She cherished being at any lake that she could go fishing at with Alan. She also enjoyed many road trip adventures with Alan and their friends, and all the winter getaways to the Caribbean.
Donna also had a great fondness for Hockey. The Kamloops Blazers and the Vancouver Canucks were her favorite teams. Donna and Alan were longtime season ticket holders for The Kamloops Blazers. Donna loved to go to the games with Alan, sit back with her super sweet lemonade, and cheer on her Blazers, especially her favorite player, Logan Stankoven.
Tragically, the world lost such a wonderful beacon of light after a long battle with cancer. Donna fought this insidious disease with grace and courage, never allowing it to dampen her spirits.
Her strength and resilience inspired all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Throughout her fight, she always kept a positive outlook, never once complained, and was somehow more concerned for everyone else, how they were doing, and how she could help them. Donna was truly as selfless, positive, and strong as a person can be.
While Donna's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to others will not be forgotten in the hearts of those she touched.
Donna is survived by her adoring husband of 36 years, Alan Richardson; their sons, Mathew Richardson (Amanda) and Trevor Richardson; her brothers Michael Coffin (Marie), Randy Coffin (Elaine); her sister Julie Savage (David); her brother in laws David Richardson, Gerald Richardson (Leah) and Ken Richardson.
Donna is also survived by her much-loved nieces, nephews, and fur babies.
Donna is predeceased by her parents, Bernard, and Sheila Coffin, as well as her mother-in-law Louvaina Richardson.
In loving memory, we bid farewell to a remarkable woman who brightened the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
