Edna Patricia Kearsley (nee Odell)

October 23, 2008

ObitKearsley

Edna Patricia Kearsley (née Odell) was born in Vancouver, B.C., on August 29, 1930. She passed away suddenly in Kamloops, B.C., on October 23, 2008, from heart failure after complications from surgery. Pat is survived by Len, her loving husband of 60 years; son Robert of Quesnel, B.C.; daughter Lenora (Larry) Klassen of Barriere, B.C.; grandchildren Chris of Barriere, B.C., and Lisa and Layne of Medicine Hat, Alberta; great-granddaughter Carissa of Medicine Hat, Alberta; and by her special friends Ron and Audrey Lanoue of Barriere.

Edna and Len came to Barriere around 11 years ago. Barriere was a special home for Edna, and she loved it here. She was delighted to form so many friends so quickly and easily in this small town. Even though she left her park-like garden back in the Lower Mainland, her garden in Barriere became her passion; Edna treasured her outdoor plants and flowers. She was proud of the way Len tended the yard and her favourite spruce tree.

Edna’s family was so important to her. She remembered all of the birthdays and other special events. Edna and Len worked side by side for many years, including five years packing shakes. We will all dearly miss Pat. May you rest in peace.

A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Mitria will be held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the family home, 543 Oriole Way, Barriere. Tea to follow.
