In Loving Memory of Eva Long (Greenwood) Nee Viau

It is with great sadness that the family of Eva Long announce her passing on Thursday May 3rd in Kamloops, British Columbia at the age of 96, after the sudden progression of a longstanding illness.

Eva was the matriarch of five generations and will be lovingly remembered by her two surviving children and daughter in law; Jackie (Jim), Alfred (Roberta) and Judy. Eva will also be remembered by her 6 surviving grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren as well as 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Eva was predeceased by her two husbands Leonard Greenwood and George Long, her son Armand, grandson Bruce and two of her siblings Laura and Paul.

The eldest of nine children, Eva was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1922. She was raised in Parksiding near Trail and raised her family in the Trail - Castlegar area. She moved to Barriere in 1986. Eva was a worthy matron of the Eastern Star and taught ceramics for many years while in the Kootenays. In Barriere Eva was instrumental in the implementation of what became the Barriere Seniors Society.

She enjoyed painting, gardening, carpet bowling, golf, Red Hat Society, travelling and cards. Eva was always ready for a game of crib with any challenger.

There will be no service at Eva's request. In lieu of flowers those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Eva to the Yellowhead Pioneer Residence. Box 212, Barriere, BC, V0E 1E0.
