Frances Bernice Abbey (Stoney) was born in New Westminster, BC on May 13, 1943 and passed away suddenly on January 26th, 2022.
Fran leaves behind Lloyd Abbey, her husband of 59 years, her brother Richard Stoney (Shirley), her two sons Todd Abbey and Travis Abbey (Monica), her most beloved granddaughter Zoe Abbey as well as countless other friends and family members.
After growing up on the Lower Mainland and spending multiple years on Vancouver Island, Fran and Lloyd established themselves in Kamloops BC where they raised both of their boys before moving further up the North Thompson Valley to McLure, then Barriere.
Fran spent a lifetime helping others, whether it was while she worked in Home Care, as a volunteer for numerous community groups or simply caring for surrounding family and friends in need. When she wasn't spending her time helping others, she could likely be found engaged in her true passion of quilting, which brought her tremendous joy and friendships along the way. During the summer months, Fran and Lloyd were known to be exploring all reaches of BC and beyond in their truck and trailer.
Fran's family and friends were of the greatest importance to her, and she leaves behind an enormous void in each of their lives with her passing.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family would simply ask that you toast Fran with a glass of red wine in her honour to remember her smile, her friendly, humble nature and her compassion for others.
