1928-2011
It is with great sadness that we an-
nounce the passing of our dear
Uncle George. George came
to Barriere late in his life, fol-
lowing his nephew and his wife
(Henry & Lee-Ann McKintuck)
when they moved here in
2004. He felt it was the 'best
place yet' and for George it def-
initely was. George had been a
quiet bachelor all his life and
soon came to think of the
YPRS as home, the residents
and staff, his extended family.
His team and table mate,
Edgar, was a good friend and
could be relied on to help haul
George's scooter out of a ditch
when it got stuck. George
loved to visit us at the farm. He
would ride around on his bright
red quad, looking to see what
we had been up to. He would
visit different parts of the prop-
erty, then settle down for a
beer and a smoke next to the
river. Always keeping an eye
out for bears. He delighted in
stories about wildlife and the
sasquatch and sometimes had
a few tales of his own to tell.
We'll miss you George and
Thanks, you were an awe-
some Uncle and friend.
