Jean Spooner was born in Maple Creek Saskatchewan, as the eldest daughter of Ruth and Jesse Crawford on October 11, 1923.

She passed away on September 20, 2013, just 3 weeks shy of her 90th birthday.

She was predeceased by her parents and both her sisters, Eleanor and Mae. Her loving husband, Mel, predeceased her in 2010. She is survived by her four children: Ken (Marlene), Donna, Pat (Carolyn) and Marilyn (Gerry); three step children: Roy (Laurie), Marty and Melody, 26 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and her little dog, Tracy, who was her great companion after Mel’s death and provided her with a lot of pleasure.

Jean was a resident of Barriere for many years until Mel’s death. After he died she moved to Kamloops to the Shores Retirement Residence and for the last year she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Gerry. She often said that the time she spent with Marilyn and Gerry was the happiest year she had had since Mel’s death.
