John Alfred Ascroft, 86, of Adam's Lake, BC, passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital on April 29, 2021.
John is predeceased by our mother, Pamela (Judd) Ascroft in 2013 and his parents, Henry ("Harry") and Ellen ("Nell") Ascroft.
John was born in Seaforth and grew up in Bootle, Merseyside, England. He served in the British Merchant Marine before emigrating to Canada in 1957, where he gave exemplary service to the Vancouver Police from 1963-1991.
John is survived by his son George "Gus" Ascroft (Wendy) of Sooke, BC, daughter Pamela Ascroft of Boca Raton, FL, grandchildren Nathan Ascroft, Georgia Ascroft and Molly Miller, step-grandchildren Brandi, Danielle and Shela and their families, siblings Grace Jones, Joyce Jones (Dic) and Harry Ascroft (Peggy) in England, brother-in-law Lawrence Beaulne, and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
There will be no funeral service. John was a man, a husband, a father and grandfather of integrity and honour and will be dearly missed.
