John (Jack) S. Bruce, 78, formerly a long-time resident of Little Fort, BC, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2003.
Jack was employed in construction most of his life, working on projects such as the Mica Dam, Tumbler Ridge coalmine development and road building on BC Highways 5, 24, and 93.
Jack loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
Although an only child, Jack truly appreciated and loved his extended family by marriage.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Verneeta; son Gene, daughter Colleen (Neil) Simmonds; grandchildren Garett, Taylor and Mackenzie Bruce, Tara and Cindy Simmonds; in-laws Roger Eakin, Jim and Gloria Eakin; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
The family especially thanks the staff of McBride and District Hospital for the exceptional care provided and Dr. Cowburn for his support, during Jack’s frequent and lengthy stays in hospital.
