It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of John Dormer, a loving husband, father and grandfather.

John passed away Friday afternoon, April 14, 2017, at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops surrounded by family and holding the hand of his loving wife of 48 years, Marjorie, after suffering a stroke at his home earlier in the day.

He was 72.

He is also survived by their children, John, Dave and Julie and granddaughter, Emily, along with his sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Being a grandfather was something he cherished and John spent his final morning happily, making breakfast with Emily.

“My dad was the most loving, generous, thoughtful and hard-working person I’ve ever known. He taught us to always follow our dreams and also strive to make the world a better place for those around us. He left an indelible mark on all who knew him. We love him dearly and he will be missed.” — Dave Dormer

The family would like to thank staff at RIH.

A public Celebration Of Life for John L. Dormer will be held April 29 at 2 p.m. at the Coast Kamloops Hotel and Conference Centre.

All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to support the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home in Kamloops.
