Keith Russell

Mr. Keith Lawrence Russell of Barriere, B.C. passed away at Royal Inland Hospital on Saturday, May 24, at the age of 60.

Keith is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife of 39 years; daughters Lana Russell (Brad Taylor) of Abbotsford, Pam Rudd (Mark) of Barriere, and Monica Russell of Abbotsford.

He leaves to mourn, his sisters Elsie Robertson (Chuck) and Isabel Russell (Bob Bucknell); brothers John (Michelle) and Brian (Margo); step-mother Barbara Russell; step-brothers Jim (Kathy) Stewart, Jerry (Wen Wah) Stewart, Stan (Rene) Stewart; and step-sister Anne (Kyle) Wood. “Grandpa” will be sadly missed by Alishia and Ashley Frasca: Cecelia Russell; Kimberley and Carter Rudd.

He was predeceased by his parents Maynard (1981) and Cecelia (1976) Russell. Keith was born in Calgary, Alberta on Jan. 13, 1943. He worked as a chef at Provincial Training School (PST) in Red Deer, Alberta from 1964-1969.

He moved his family to Kamloops in 1969 where he worked in the logging industry with his father Maynard.

He and Dorothy opened their service station, Ghinty Service Center, in May of 1992, where they worked side by side.

Keith loved “the bush” spending time with his family, tinkering with his old cars and traveling to the Baja.

Funeral Service was held Friday, May 30, 2003 at the Free Methodist Centennial Chapel. Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery.

If friends desire, memorial tributes to the BC Transplant Society, Third Floor, West Tower, 555 West 12th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C., V5Z 3X7 would be appreciated in memory of Keith.
