Kenneth Wilfred MacAulay

September 6, 2005

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth Wilfred MacAulay on September 6, 2005, at the age of 58.

Ken will always be in the heart of his beautiful bride of 39 years Althea “Mae”, children; Sandra (Edmund), Deborah (Michael), Gayle (Glen), and his eight grandchildren; AJ, Talon, Lisa, Kenny, Caleb, Amy-Rae, Jacob and Mataeus.

Predeceased by his father Robert “Bruce” in 1984, he leaves behind his loving mother Kathleen, sister Judy, three brothers; Bob (Marjorie), Lawrence (Donna), Mark (Wendy) and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

Ken made an impact on all those who knew him as shown by his many close friends and colleagues.

Ken was born October 10, 1946, in Rossland, BC. Ken married his high school sweetheart in Rossland where together they began raising their family. He attended Selkirk College in Castlegar where he obtained the designation of Forest Technologist and in 1969 he moved his young family to Kamloops where he started his forestry career with Balco, now Tolko Industries.

Ken was passionate about his work and committed himself to his role until the day of his passing.

Ken and Mae built their dream home on Heffley Lake where they have shared the past 13 years.

Ken will forever be remembered for his love and commitment to family, friends and career, his willingness to help others, his honesty, integrity, and his “clever” sense of humour. Ken’s passion for his family, sailing, fishing and the love of the outdoors has left behind a legacy of memories that we will all forever cherish.

A celebration of Ken’s life was held on Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Kamloops Alliance Church, with Reverend Bruce Brown of Armstrong officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation (Heart Fund), The Arthritis Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
