Lee was born to Thelma and Karl Jensen in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Lee was one of six children. The family moved to Vancouver Island when Lee was quite young.
She met her husband Allan Neil Mitchell while in track and field, and they fell in love and got married in 1950. They have two children, Howard (Bergie) Mitchell and Glen Mitchell. They have four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Lee and Al always loved animals, they spent many years training Brittany Spaniels. Lee took her love of animals farther, and had a business grooming dogs. Many weekends were spent at dog trials and canoe outings where they met many lifelong friends.
Lee was known by many in the North Thompson as she continued to groom dogs when she moved to Barriere. As soon as they moved onto larger properties they were able to add horses to their family.
The cozy home with pets large and small, large garden and home baking was always a wonderful place for the children and grandchildren to come home to.
Lee passed in Clearwater, where she spent her last six months in the great care of the wonderful staff at Forest View.
Lee will be so sadly missed by her family and friends. She was a truly beautiful person inside and out.
