1937 – 2011

Mario Biasotti passed away at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, BC, on April 13, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He was 73 years of age. Born on October 25, 1937 in Caranza, Italy, Mario is survived by his wife, Barbara Biasotti of Louis Creek, BC; children Anna Stockman (Ken Krugar), Susan Speers (Rob), Franko Biasotti (Cristina) and Antonio Biasotti; step-children Colleen Venasse, Jim Venasse, Micheal Venasse, Tom Venasse and Melisa Venasse; grandchildren Brian, Stephanie, Robert John, Ashley, Kayla, Britinay, Jonathen, Shilo, Josh, Bradley, Scott, Alexander, Alison, Jeremy, Nathan, Tom Jr., Raymond, Brandon, Amanda, Micheala, Clairissa, Douglas, Cassie, Krista, Tyler and Tori-Anne; sisters Gemma (Gino) Biasotti and Gretzela Marango; brothers Guido (Elise) Biasotti and Franko (Melissa) Biasotti. Mario was predeceased by his sister Maria Biasotti in Italy; his brother Giovani Biasotti in Italy; his first wife Madeline Sophia, of 100 Mile House; and by his step-son Robert Venasse, of Surrey, BC.

Mario was born and raised in Italy, and received his education there, before immigrating to Canada in 1957. He made his career as a welder fabricator, millwright and machinist. For a time, Mario lived and worked in Alberta. He moved to 100 Mile House in 1968 and then to Louis Creek (Barriere) in 1994. Mario’s hobbies included gardening and building gadgets.

Friends and family paid their respects to Mario at a Visitation held in the Chapel of the funeral home in Barriere, BC, on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cremation followed.
