April 24, 1937 – October 17, 2016

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Mom, Marion Lodge. With her daughter Louise by her side, she passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital on Monday Oct. 17th, 2016.

Mom was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, our Pop, Brian Lodge, her parents, Laurent and Aline Langlet, four sisters and brother in-laws, Denise (Leo), Madeleine (Spud), Jeannine (Alfred) and Jacqueline, and brother Lawrence.

Marion was an amazing Mom to her son Dean (Cathy) from Omaha, Nebraska, daughter Louise from Barriere, B.C., her cherished granddaughter Alexa, her beloved dog Molly and her support daughters, Stacey, Mel and Gwen.

Marion was born and raised in Lac La Biche, Alberta. She moved to Winfield, B.C. where she met Brian. They lived in Falkland until moving to Barriere, B.C., in 1967 where they laid their roots and raised their family.

Marion was actively involved in the Barriere Minor Softball Association, coaching and cheering on her children. She was a proud and enthusiastic volunteer and member of the Barriere Curling Club, competing in many bonspiels.

If Marion was not on her favorite golf course, Chinook Cove, you would find her tending to her gardens or walking with Molly.

Mom leaves her memories to be cherished by numerous friends in and around Barriere. Thank you Mom for showing us how to be a true friend. Thank you for all your unconditional love; you were our rock, our anchor and our true North. We know you are with Pop, dancing again and tending to the gardens. We will miss you always and carry you in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Marion Lodge to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation at https://www.gifttool.com/donations/Donate?ID=1943&AID=674

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday Oct. 29th, 2016, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the upstairs of the Royal Canadian Legion in Barriere, B.C.

Special thank you to the Royal Inland Hospital ICU staff for their compassion and wonderful care of our Mom. Arrangements entrusted to Drake Cremation and Funeral Services, Barriere, B.C., 1 250 672 – 1999.
