With much sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, Louise, on January 17, 2011. Louise was born in Taber, Alberta in 1924 where she spent her youth, before moving to Lethbridge to launch a lifelong career with the Royal Bank. It was here she met and later married her sweetheart, Mac Isbister in 1944. Together they raised 3 children in Lethbridge, until Mac’s passing in 1963. After her children had grown and left home Louise accepted transfers within the Royal Bank to further her career. These transfers eventually took her to the Royal Bank, Fairmont Drive, Calgary from which she retired in 1983. She loved to spend her free time doing needlepoint, knitting, reading and watching sports on TV.

Louise was also predeceased by her oldest son, Ken, in 1980. Left to mourn, but with wonderful memories are her daughter Leslie Stirling (Bob) of Barriere, BC, son Andy Isbister (Doris) of Fort Saskatchewan and daughter-in-law Anne Isbister of Calgary, 5 grandchildren (Teresa, Rob, Ashley, Marc and Michael) and 4 great grandchildren.

Louise fell in love with Barriere the first time she visited in 1977. She enjoyed the wonderful hospitality – the pot luck suppers, the church dinners, the fall fairs, the Christmas concerts and the Christmas parties. At home in Calgary she loved to read her weekly Star/Journal to keep up with what her Barriere friends were up to. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a memorial donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A memorial service will be held in Lethbridge, Alberta in the spring.
