On Thursday, September 14, 2006 Mrs. Mary McConnell of Kamloops passed away peacefully at the age of 92 years.
Mary was born in Burr, Saskatchewan on February 8, 1914. She resided in Lanigan, Saskatchewan for many years, moving to B.C. in 1969 and Barriere in 1972.
At the time of her passing she had made her home at the Overlander Extended Care Hospital.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Bill in 1999, her two bothers Herman and Leonard and her sisters Cecilia, Regina (Jen), Emma and Mollie.
She is survived by her son Don (Claudette) of Montreal and their children Brian (Mary Claude), Anne Marie (Jan Jaap) and Patrick (Stephanie); her two daughters Janet (Wally) Welz of Barriere and their children Shawn (Tammy), Jason (Nadine) Wendy (Joel) and Maureen (Gerry) Cey of Wilkie, Saskatchewan and their children Jeffrey (Delainie), Sheldon (Courtney), Christine (Darcy) Millard, Cathryn and Ricky. She is also remembered by her sister Agnes Heyworth of Barriere.
Thanks to the staff of the Overlander Extended Care Hospital, Elm Wing for their excellent care of Mary.
Prayers will be recited on Sunday, September 17, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Saint George’s Catholic Church in Barriere. The Reverend Father Nicholas Forde O.M.I. will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in the church on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.
