It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Myrtle Elizabeth Tudor, at the age of 96 years. She was born July 30, 1911 at Mound, Alberta, and went to be with her Lord on December 30, 2007, from Forest View Place in Clearwater.

Myrtle was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Ross, in December of 1988 and leaves, to cherish her memory, their two daughters: Joy (Wendel) Huber of Squam Bay, BC, and Alva (Ed) Saunders-Tetzlaff of Caroline, AB; grandchildren, Ross (Janet) Huber, Leo (Dawn) Huber, Rita (Steven) Mosdell, Heidi (Patrick) Schilling, Christina (George) Allen, Melody Pawloff, Carmen (Brian) Miller, Erik (Shirley) Saunders; great grandchildren, Martin, Maegan & Nicole Huber, Dawson & Amanda Huber, Brody, Clayton & Mason Mosdell, Katrine & Emma Schilling, Hannah and Kurt Allen, Merissah & Nethaniel Pawloff, Courtenay & Jeremy Boker and Victor & Mercedes Miller, as well as her dear friend, Ivor Saunders.

Myrtle and Ross Tudor and family moved to the ranch in Fadear Valley, BC, in 1946. She was a true pioneer wife and mother, dealing with isolation and instructing her daughters’ schooling, through BC Correspondence School. She loved gardening, especially her roses. Myrtle and Ross moved to Kamloops, BC, to retire, where Mom soon had fruit trees and tomatoes, both hard to grow up Fadear Valley.

In 1997 Mom moved to an apartment in Barriere, BC, where she continued her love of gardening by growing flowers and tomatoes in containers. During her later years in the apartment she shared it with her dear friend, Alma MacDougal. They made many happy memories together. We thank the Barriere Home Care ladies for their kindness to Mom.

Requiring more care, she moved to be with Joy and Wendel at Squam Bay, where she greatly enjoyed being surrounded by grandchildren, great grandchildren and animals.

The past year she was lovingly cared for at Overlander Extended Care in Kamloops, then Forest View Place in Clearwater. Her family is very appreciative of the excellent care given by the staff at both locations.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, Barriere, BC. Donations in memory of Myrtle Tudor may be made to Forest View Place, Clearwater, BC, V0E 1N0. Funeral arrangements entrusted to North Thompson Funeral Services, 4638 Barriere Town Road, Barriere, BC, V0E 1E0, Telephone: 250-672-1999.
