March 1, 2006

January 3, 1920 - March 1, 2006

The family of Rene Suttle is saddened to announce the passing of their wonderful loving wife, mum, sister, auntie, and best friend at the age of 91 in Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops.

Rene was born in London, England, where in her younger years she was very active in supporting her family and friends while volunteering with the Armed Forces during World War II.

During this time in Rochford, England, on Aug. 16, 1941, she married her long-time childhood friend Harry, who was a Merchant Marine. The wedding ceremony was held during a ‘black out’ which resulted in all the soldiers in the area attending the wedding reception (one of many adventures that Rene enjoyed).

Her adventures continued during the War with the birth of a daughter.

In 1949 she immigrated to Nestledown, Sask., Canada, where her second child, Ron, was born.

There were many moves in her life; Langley, Kelowna, Little Fort, and in her remaining years Barriere. Through all this change wherever Rene (Nan) lived she lived her life to the fullest with joy and love for her family, grand children, great and great great grandchildren, as well as her many friends.

Rene loved gardening, pool, bowling, dancing, singing, and camping She loved visiting her friends and being involved at the store. She was known for her strength in her faith.

Rene was predeceased in England by her mother Rose and father Ted Mille.

She is survived by brother Ken Miller of England, and sister Joan Cross also of England.

Daughter Yvonne (Murray) Purcha of Barriere, son Ron (Sandy) Suttle of Armstrong, and her precious joy her grandchildren Lorne (Sherry) Purcha of Fort McMurray, Tammy Purcha of Barriere, Jodie (Mark) Land of Abbotsford, Ashley Suttle of Abbotsford, her great grand children LJ, Rayann, Danny, Taylor and Katlyn of Abbotsford, and great great grandchildren Dakota and baby Haley.
