Ulrich Ferdinand Schilling was from Darfield, British Columbia, most recently of Barriere, BC. His final days were spent at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops, BC. He passed away on June 8, 2018, at the age of 84. Ulrich was born in Kamloops, BC on October 13, 1933.
Ulrich is survived by his loving wife Anna Schlingermann, 4 step children Tom (Karin), Chris (Eileen), Simone and children, Anja (Ian) and children. He will also be missed by hisbrotherBruno (Karen), niece Elizabeth (Darryl) and children, nephews Robin (Jody) and children,Brian(Lisa) and children.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ferdinand and Uli (Emma Salle) Schilling, sister Inga Rainer and brother Volkmar Salle.
Ulrich was a farmer, tending to his dairy and beef cattle. He always took pride in his garden and was an active member of the Fall Fair Association, in particular the poultry section. Ulrich and Anna enjoyed traveling together, a cruise to Alaska, USA, crossing Canada by train and many road trips. He was an avid hunter and knew where the best huckleberries grew, providing friends and family with berries in multiple ice cream buckets. He belonged to the Fish and Game Club. He loved to fish all year round and was expected to catch the most and the largest fish. Ulrich was a helpful, kind, goodhearted person who never complained about life.
Donations in memory of Ulrich Schilling may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of BC, 536 Tranquille Road, Kamloops. BC, V2B 3H4. There will be no service at this time.
