On May 14, 2002, Vera Underwood passed away in her sleep at Overlander Extended Care in Kamloops.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1977.
She leaves a son, Eric, of Dewdney and a daughter, Jackleen, of Darfield; also left to remember her are four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Vera was born April 6, 1899, in West Grimstead, England.
She immigrated to Canada with her husband and son in 1927, and lived on the farm at Darfield. She was the postmistress there for many years.
During that time she touched the lives of many friends, and she leaves fond memories for those who knew her.
A memorial service was held at the Darfield Community Hall, May 25, 2002.
