Mike Fennell elected mayor of Barriere

Mike Fennell will take top spot as mayor for the inaugural government of the new District of Barriere. Elected on Saturday, Nov. 17, with an as yet unconfirmed 517 votes, he won over his closest rival Bill Kershaw with 249 votes.

“I promise all of my constituents that I will do my best for you and I will earn your trust,” said Fennell in his victory speech, “I really believe that by working together we can really make a difference.”

Results for the six councillor positions were not yet tabulated as of this posting.
