North Thompson Fall Fair enthusiast says this year “was a great one!”

Well, that was fun!

I do love a good fair, and this year the North Thompson Fall Fair was a great one.

The food vendors alone were awesome. I did try to hit as many different ones as I could. There was the Asian one in the North Thompson Agriplex, with a choice of spicy - or not, for a light eater you got enough for at least two meals. Then there were all the trailers - curly fries, mini donuts, monster ice-cream, fruit slushies, Greek food, and Char’s (the Thai sweet and spice wrap was really good).

Then in the other buildings there was the Curling Rinks donuts and hamburgers, and Bob Sorensons’ ribs (and other goodies). I was apparently too early each day to get any bannock (had to leave around 12-12:30 to get to work on time), and corn on the cob and haystacks. Oh, and the Lions Club serving breakfast each morning.

There was lots of things to do for the kids, too. There was a booth where they were doing henna face painting. There were all the various bouncy stations, and Barriere and Area Learning and Literacy sponsored the Kids Zone, where they had crafts and games and toys to play with for all ages. There were a couple of booths where the kids could play a game to win a prize.

And the animals! There were the chickens, geese and assorted other birds in the poultry barn. There were goats of all sizes and descriptions in the goat barn. There were the horses (heavy and regular) next to the rodeo arena.

The logging show was it’s usual noisy fun; the open stage had a wide variety of acts on stage; the exhibit hall was full of all sorts of interesting displays; and the rodeo area was always a great place to sit for awhile and watch the lawn mower races and the rodeo itself.

All in all, a wonderful, fun packed event.

Thank you to all who helped put this event on - you did an awesome job!
