Thanking Barriere for the memories

Thanking Barriere for the memories letter to the editor

To the editor;

This letter is to the wonderful and amazing people of Barriere and area.

I can’t say enough about this great community and this year’s Barriere Walk For Memories.

You have once again come out in full support of those suffering with the devastating disease of Alzheimer’s.  Because of your support, we have raised well over $6,000 during this year’s Walk for the B.C. Alzheimer Society; of which 85 per cent will be used for education, support services, and funding research for a cure.

For those wanting more information on this disease, go to www.facesofdementia.ca, or phone toll free 1-800-667-3742.

For the final total raised at the Walk, watch for the official Alzheimer’s thank you ad that will be in either the February 20, or 27 issue of the North Thompson Star/Journal.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers and donors - if it wasn’t for all of you, this Walk would not be possible.  You can all give yourselves a huge pat on the back.

Thanks again.

Liz Gilbertson,

and the Alzheimer Society of B.C.
